Who really wants to go to Williamsburg anyway?

Friday afternoon I came home after a surprisingly good week from school, to find a treat that put the icing on the end of my work week. As I walked into our dining room I saw a beautiful bouquet of flowers

with a card attached reading "Happy early 30th!" For those of you that do not know, M and I both will celebrate our 30th birthdays this month! M's birthday is in the middle of the month and I celebrate mine at the end of the month. To say the least, I was definitely not expecting a surprise birthday present at the end of February! I did know that M was planning a trip to Williamsburg, VA for his birthday this coming weekend; I actually was leaving school early on Friday and was taking the day off on Monday so that we could make a long weekend of it...we were looking forward to it (so I thought).

All of that changed when I opened the card it read "Start packing, because honestly who wants to go to Williamsburg". Inside the card was another envelope which I opened and found flight itinerarys to Nassau next weekend (I had to read it 3 times before it sunk in)! Oh my goodness...my husband is quite sneaky and I LOVE it! We are going to the Bahamas! I can not believe it...I am still in shock and quite giddy over the whole situation. I absolutely love being at the beach and can not wait to soak up the sun and have a nice, relaxing weekend with my hubby. We will arrive in time for a late dinner on Friday, have a drink, sit in the hot tub, walk on the beach...you name it and I will be happy. We will have a full day on Saturday and Sunday and then will head out early Monday afternoon...AHHHHHH!

After jumping and dancing around the apartment, I finally made my way out of the living room and dining room to put some laundry away (M did the laundry Friday too...I was happy with that alone!) and low and behold there was a 2nd bouqet of flowers! Could he be any sweeter? My friends husband just complimented M on his Cassanova moves...perhaps M should be called C...nah, I am C.

We will post again when we return...or maybe before :) Bon voyage!

The $300 Burrito

It's well known that C likes nice things (Lululemon, Anthropologie, me...) and she's more willing than I to pay a premium for the quality upgrade. However, last week my $300 burrito (technically it was a $303.38 burrito) 'bridged' her reign and topped her in such a fashion last week that it will be a while before she gets the 'crown' back.

We've all accidentally overpaid for items; sometimes the register rings it up incorrectly and you don't notice or you ordered the $50 special without asking the waiter how much it costs. Admittedly, however, it's hard to significantly overpay at Qdoba - everything costs $5.75-6.75.

On my recent Qdoba visit, I though I would try something new. One bite into this overstuffed burrito and I new something was different. Upon reflection, I realized that while this burrito has a different sauce, it tastes like all of their others. Stopping to savor the flavor and enjoy the BBQ sauce in my burrito, I realized the true difference was that I was now missing a 20% of one of a lower front incissors (a front tooth). Somehow I chipped a chunk out of my tooth on a soft burrito. The weirdest part is that I never found the piece of tooth - it was not in the burrito, on the table, nor did I swollow it. I really wanted to find it because I was wondering if the tooth fairy leaves money for partial teeth - I guess we'll never know.

Regardless of where the tooth part is, a quick visit to the Dentist (the $300 bill - although I'm awaiting insurance reimbursement) and my tooth is whole again. In fact this dental office was nice enough to upgrade me, since I was a first time client. Check me out below.

The moral of the story, is that while it may seem worthwhile to enjoy the occasional $300 burrito its not and like fluoride in your water, you'll wonder what the real benefit is and why the communists did it.

Yes, C does likes the mustache

Ever Wonder What You're Doing on the Internet?

We've all searched our names on google, yahoo... to see what our webselves are up to. It's even more fun when you find something surprising. This past week, I found out that C ran for Arlington School Board, or at least was written in by one person for school board (I wonder who did that...hmmm).

Check it out - Page 18.

Happy early mardi gras everyone.

T-11 Days and Counting

That's right only 11 days until C & M's 2009 Mardi Gras party. Since we can't be there for the Digger Krewe float, we're having our own festivities.

Wondering what our party theme is (it wouldn't be mg without a theme)? I'll give you a hint...Aaarggghhhn't you upset you'll be out of town and can't attend our Paaarrrrrty?

That's right, a pirate theme! And today, with time running out, we started creating our costumes (yes, their pirate outfit). If you're in DC on the 21st you're invited to join us. Here are pics from today's costume design and creation.

this is the logo I made for our party this year (every party needs a logo)
