I'm So Excited to Clap

After several months of waving and a month of saying "hi," "bye," "Baeee," (baby) and "Daeee" (daddy), I learned to clap correctly.

Clapping is tough.  You have to remember to open both hands.  You have to remember to not hold any toys or food.  You have to remember to not eat your hands.  And you have to correctly bang your hands together, while not hitting other parts of your body.  There is a lot to remember - I think that is why it has taken me a few weeks to become proficient.  That, and I wanted to save something new to show my Nana and Grandma while in StL.

For those that don't know, Phin and I are in the StL for our own Summer Camp with Nana and Papa.  Dad tells me that Summer Camp is for doing all of the things I can't do the rest of the year, like "going to the zoo, swimming, riding trains, playing all day..."  I tried to tell Dad that I do those things all day, everyday.  Unfortunately I only know four words, so it did not come out as planned.

Anyway, click the link/photo below to check out my clapping!

Four Minutes of Silliness!

Sometimes, Mom says I'm a silly girl.  It's fun to be silly.  Yesterday, I was having so much fun making noises, playing with my arms, and just being a crazy fun little lady.  Check out the two videos below by clicking on the images or links.

In the first video you can see me practicing my raspberries (yes, those sounds are coming from my mouth).

In this second video, I really get into it... shaking my arms, wiggling, scooting, and more tooty raspberries!

Lots of Love & Silliness,

Mighty Fine at Nine!

Yeah, I'm nine months old.  What a great month this last one was!  I've come a long way since 8 months - I hardly look like the same little lady.  I've been doing more talking, more sitting, more lunging, and even a little bit of scooting on my tummy.  Just a little bit though, I don't like scooting too much.  I prefer sitting.  When I sit, I can see so much further.  When I sit, both of my hands are free to interact.  When I sit, I'm almost as tall as Phin's knees - Phin has lovely knees.  Plus, when I sit my friend Oliver comes to sit next to me.  Don't worry Grandpa, he's usually wearing a shirt.

As much as I love sitting, my new fave is waving and trying to shout "hi."  I love waving.  I wave hello to Mommy and Daddy when I see them in the morning.  I wave good-bye when Daddy goes to work.  I wave hello at the store at strangers.  I wave to the entire family when we eat meals.  I wave goodnight when I go to bed.  And I wave to Phin whenever I see him (which is a lot).  Oh waving, you are so much fun - way more fun than scooting on my tummy.

Enough about waving... I know you came here to see my 9-month photos, so follow this link.  In the meantime, check out a few of my favs here.  For this photo shoot, we went and took some shots by some pretty gates around Old Town Alexandria.  Shout out to Cousin Patsy for my pretty purply dress.  Phin did a similar tour two years ago (towards the bottom of the album).

Lots of Love,
Amelia
