Hmm, that looks like art to me

At school I get to work on all kinds of cool projects.  Can you guess what kind of project I am working on here? 

Hint:  I am doing art...




Answer: I'm working on a self-portrait - literally.  Although I was the only one who portraited myself instead of just the paper.  Mom and Dad were amused at the amount of marker and pencil on my face.  I will continue to draw my self-portrait (on paper) over the next few weeks at school - I'm sure it will turn out as handsome as I am.

Hidden Pond Park - Fun Adventure and Impromptu Photo Shoot

Now that it is nice outside, I have been itching for an adventure.  Sure, Mom takes me out during the week to story time at the library and we go to the park/playground nearly everyday.  But, I had a yearning for adventure, for the outdoors, and for some snakes (I like snakes).

A few weeks back we met some friends at a new nature center near our house - Hidden Pond Park.  We had a great time and wanted to take dad next time.  So last weekend we took him to the park and (not surprisingly) we had a fantastic time.

We hiked through the woods...

And then, we hiked across bridges in the woods...

In addition to a lake and trails in the woods, Hidden Pond Park has a nature center full of turtles, snakes, and frogs, as well as a playground.  If they built a swingset at the park, I would venture to say that it is the perfect park!

Here We Go Wisconsin, Here We Go!

About a month ago, we took a trip to Wisconsin to see Papa and Nana and celebrate Passover with the family.  While I’m still learning about the holidays, we did plenty of passing over – we passed over Maryland, we passed over West Virginia, we passed over Ohio and Indiana and a big lake. 

It was great to go back to Wisconsin.  As you know I’m a veteran traveler – I’ve been flying for about 3 years and this was my second trip to see Nana and Papa’s new home.  Believe it or not, Dad had never been to Wisconsin – so we made sure to show him all the sights, so he would want to come back again. 

First we tried on Cheesehead hats – because they like to make everything out of cheese in Wisconsin.

Then we went to the Jelly Belly Factory.  I like it because they have Jelly Belly’s and a train ride around the warehouse.  Dad liked all of the different samples; Amelia’s favorite flavors were Grass and Boogie (gross Amelia – but, it makes sense since she likes cows). 

Then we went to the Wisconsin Car Museum.  My favorite part was the model train exhibit.  I love trains (in case you forgot). 

Then we went and played at Nana's school.  They have a great playground.

Then my bigger cousin Tyler from Chicago (he’s one year older) taught me how to bowl… you pick your ball, then roll it down the ramp, then knock over the pins, then dance.  And then (best part), you get to do it all over again.  I bowled a 94 – Dad says that’s better than Aunt Mimi has ever done!

After bowling, we went back to Nana and Papa’s and had a sedar with a lot of our cousins.  I need shorter cousins… I’m a tall guy, but it is tough being the third shortest.  Oh and at sedar Cousins Julie and Lisa sang some songs (much nicer than when Dad sings).

After the cousins left, we went to the Children’s museums downtown for a fun adventure.

Then, to wrap up the visit (because it was blizzarding in April) we toured Nana and Papa’s clubhouse – I got to play my first motorcycle video game.  I beat Dad; but he says he beat me.  To which I reply “Dad, I’ve been in the car when you’ve driven – trust me, I drive much faster.”

After all these sites, who can believe we missed some attractions.  I told Dad next time we’re in Wisconsin we can go to the Mustard Museum and the brewery (I’ll drive home) – but only after another tour of the Jelly Belly Factory (He has to save some sites for next time).  In the meantime, you can check out all of my photos from Wisconsin here.

Go Cardinals!!!

Occasionally, I can convince Phin to take a break from his cars and trains to do other activities.  This past weekend, I was able to coax him into asking Mom and Dad to take us to a baseball game.  As you may remember, last year we went to the Cardinals-Nationals game and had a fabulous time.  So, when I found out that the Cardinals decided to come back to DC, I had to go see them.  Unfortunately, my verbal vocabulary is still limited (I'm only 21 months old); but, I knew Phin would understand my interests.  So, he talked to Mom and Dad on my behalf.  Thankfully, they acquiesced and we caught the game on Sunday!

With our Cardinals gear, we loaded up the metro and headed down to the stadium.

 Once at the stadium, Dad had reserved us great seats in Right Center to 'watch' the game and snack.  They even had individual-sized bags of popcorn.  In the shot below, I'm sharing my food with Elmo - oh Elmo. 

 After about 2 hours of snacking, we even watched the game for a couple of minutes before heading to the Ballpark's play space.

I love heading to the baseball game and look forward to going again.  Maybe we can go to another one this year.  In the meantime, check out the entirety of our pictures here.

TRIPLETS!!!

What's better than one good friend... three good friends. 

What's better than three good friends... three good friends who are all sisters (and travel as a pack).

What's better than three good friends who are sisters... The Triplets!

That's right, my friends, The Triplets from Boston, came down (by an airplane) to visit and stay at our house!  It was so cool, not only are they smart and triplets, but they are also older.  I was so excited about their visit that for weeks before they came, I showed everyone their picture.  Sometimes I would even pretend I was one of The Triplets.

While they were here, we had so much fun; despite the constant rain!  They got to sleep in my room with me - it was fun and crowded.  Although, one night I kept them up late and got in trouble (I had to sleep in Mom and Dad's room). 

Despite the rain, I took them to the Building Museum and the Natural History Museum (which was so crowded!)... we even got to ride on the metro several times!
