My First Horse Race

Some of you may remember the last time I saw live horses in person... Mom and Dad took my to the stables in Rock Creek Park.  I hated it.  I cried the entire time (until I got to play in a dig truck).  But, now I'm a big guy and big guys like horses.  I even know the sound horses make.  Clop, Clop, Clop.

Nana and Papa came in town last week, so I decided I wanted to see more horses.  I took them to the Pimlico racetrack in Baltimore.  While the track was set up for the Preakness (this coming weekend), we experienced all the thrill without paying $100+ for tickets.  I didn't have to wear a big hat either.

Papa says that when his dad was a little guy, he used to sneak out of his house and go to the track to bet on the ponies.  I don't know about betting, but I certainly like watching the horses in the paddock and run around the track.  Every time the horse would run by, Dad would hold me up to the rail and I would cheer and clap with everyone else.  So fun.  But, my favorite part happened after the races.  They drove two water spray trucks and two tractors around to clean the dirt.  I love trucks!  More trucks?  Mom said maybe next time I can ride on the trucks.  I love trucks!  Below are some pictures from the track - more Nana & Papa pics coming soon (as well as the rest of my photos from April).

Peace Out,
Phin
