The week started off great, Nana and Papa came to town. It's always fun to see them. I took them to my pool and my park. Here I am swinging on the big guy swings with Dad - because I'm a big guy.
For whatever reason, Nana and Papa came to hang with me on Monday, while Mom and Dad left. I should have know something was wrong when Nana brought a suitcase (and Papa did not - he said he stayed at a hotel) and Mom and Dad didn't come back. At first I thought they were on a crazy long date. Nope. Something else was up.
The next day, Papa came over and the 3 of us went to some crazy hotel for sick people. They called it a hospital. It was weird, mom and dad were there. And Mom was lying down in a bed with tubes in her arms. Even weirder, there was a little baby there. I guessed (because no one told me) that this baby was Amelia. I gave her an owl blankie and she gave me a cool train set. As a show of her sassy side, Amelia's train set present only contained 1/2 of the tracks. What good is a train without tracks. She's such a practical joker. While I love my little sister, rest assured, I will get my vengeance soon. Thankfully Papa called the company and demanded more tracks.
To show her that I still loved her and was glad she arrived, I gave her a gentle pat on the head (she was too high in Nana's arms to hug and kiss). I'm not sure why, but she cried afterwards. Probably because she was so happy to meet me.
After my visit to the hospital, I went home and spent the rest of the day having fun with Nana and Papa. The next day was the same. Nana and Papa in the morning. A trip in the afternoon to see Mom and Dad and sassy Amelia. Then, back home with Nana and Papa. It's always fun to have company. And it's always fun to stay up late, eat out, and party with Big Elmo (versus my small stuffed Elmo) in my bed at night. I'm not normally allowed to take Big Elmo to bed, since I like to stay up late and read books to him. Oh Big Elmo, you crazy!
Eventually, Mom and Dad and sassy Amelia came home from the hospital. And Nana returned to the hotel to sleep. I love having Amelia home (and mom and dad, I guess). It's nice to have someone else who to eat, sleep, and get diaper changes alongside. Plus, she likes to watch me play trains and cars. She is also up for a gentle hug and kiss whenever I need to share them (I'm still a tough 'big guy' despite this softness).
Anyway, here's a photo of me, Mr. Center of Attention, because I know that you're tired of looking at silly baby pics. More pictures of me coming in my next blog post.
Peace Out,
